Stepan Libricky Co-director of Travel Better DMC

Stepan Libricky is the co-director of Travel Better DMC and the director of Stepladder TOURISM, where he provides tailored advisory services with a focus on immersive experiential travel, guest experience journey design and brand promise takeaway creation.

Stepan is our lead travel designer with the ability to open any closed door, pull a chair up to a booked-out restaurant table and gain access to the most in-demand regional talent and unique personalities. His ability to understand our guest’s needs and wants drives the creation of engaging and memorable itineraries, experiences and travel designs, that stand Travel Better apart.

As a host of the key components of our experiences, he provides intimate and passionate introductions to both people and place. Every experience is informative, meaningful and entertaining; which creates emotionally binding memories and highlights that will be remembered long after the flight home.

Stepan’s 25 years of his tourism and hospitality career include working with brands such as Hilton Hotels (Europe and across Australia), Xanadu Wines and Leeuwin Estate in regional WA to name a few. He is also a founding member of Ultimate Winery Experiences of Australia.

His experience includes hotel operations, immersive wine tourism, capital concept development and project management, tourism product development, and distribution channel management.

We founded Travel Better DMC to provide to make a positive difference to the world by sharing the magic of travel and its people through encouraging travellers to live mindfully and curiously, and by building connection and community to help regional businesses thrive.

We imagine and realise bespoke itineraries and events to service  MICE and special interest travel groups in wine regions of Western Australia while supporting the regional community and the inspiring individual connections we have formed from over fifteen years of combined experience living in Margaret River. 

Travel Better DMC is also about Engaging and connecting leisure travellers to wine regions by providing immersive and memorable online and real life travel experiences for the curious.

 Our aim is to contribute a positive social, cultural and environmental impact with every business action.

Cassandra Charlick
Co-director

Cassandra Charlick is an award-winning wine journalist, travel and food writer, television presenter and MC. She's the Western Australian correspondent for Decanter, and her “Travel by the Glass” column can be found in International Traveller. She regularly contributes to publications, including Halliday magazine, Delicious Magazine, Escape, Australian Traveller, The Urban List, T Magazine, Luxury Traveller, and Ray Jordan's Wine Review. She’s a wine judge, reviewer for Wine Pilot and the WA Good Food Guide, and a television presenter on Channel Nine's Our State on a Plate.

Cassandra is an in-demand host and MC, thanks to her warm and engaging tone, industry expertise, and 20+ years in the entertainment industry. She facilitates wine masterclasses and tastings for trade and consumers and is regularly called upon for commentary at wine tastings.

Cassandra is the 2024 IWSC Emerging Wine Communicator of the Year award winner. In 2023, Cassandra was awarded a fellowship at the Wine Writers Symposium in Napa Valley. She was also selected as the fellow for the Australian Alternative Varieties Wine Show in Mildura, one of Australia’s most progressive wine shows that celebrates the diversity of Australian wine styles and grapes.

As a consultant, she assists brands in the tourism and wine industries in sharing their stories. Cassandra is the co-founder and co-director of Earn Your Vino and Travel Better DMC, delivering immersive and bespoke experiences throughout Western Australia's wine regions.

One of the greatest pleasures of wine and travel is that there is always an infinite amount more to learn, and Cassandra finds joy in discovering the stories that fall between the cracks.
