To take you on a journey of the red wine grape from a vineyard to a barrel to a glass...between varietals and vintages.

From the ripening bunches still on vines, bursting with flavour, almost ready for its transformation, through the gentle juice extraction handling, to the vessel for the final stage of the ‘birth of wine’; to the wine itself, in many glasses, in many varied forms.

We will embark on sensory journey, accompanied by two award-winning winemakers through small, boutique vineyards, hearing about the farming practices, the land we walk on, the low-intervention winemaking and finally through immersive wine tasting.

Our hosts will present some of the special and unique wine varietals and styles in an intimate yet informal setting, directly from the barrel. No questions are considered inappropriate. This morning will be taken up a notch with a full run around the winery – watch the fruit being delivered, processed in the crusher, “plunged” in the open air fermenters or taster wines from barrels in various stages of their maturity, development, walk the vineyard and learn about practices applied in their farming. This interactive visit is so much more than the usual. It is the ‘point in time of the 2024 vintage of red wines in the Margaret River’. A masterclass of styles, with tasting of wines directly from the barrel. Seng the variations of age and styles yet to be ready for release.

An intimate tasting of wines from the various wine regions of the Western Australian winemaking “young gun” L.S. Merchants. Dylan Arvidson. We will be treated to a private visit at the home of Rob and Gen Mann, the “Western Australian winemaker’s royalty”, tasting their highly acclaimed Corymbia Wines. Enjoy this intimate one-on-one tasting, at the pair’s Margaret River home, overlooking their dry-grown cabernet vines.

This one-day food and wine immersion is curated and hosted by an expert team led by wine and tourism expert Stepan Libricky. IWSC award winning wine journalist, communicator, travel writer and presenter Cassandra Charlick provided wine selection advise and recommendations.
